Investing.com – Mexico stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Materials, Financial Services and Industrials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC fell 0.63%.
The best performers of the session on the IPC were Grupo Elektra , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ELEKTRA), which rose 3.18% or 23.97 points to trade at 778.80 at the close. Meanwhile, Grupo Aeroportuario Del CentroNorte (MX:OMAB) added 1.20% or 1.220 points to end at 103.180 and Kimberly - Clark De Mexico A (MX:KIMBERA) was up 1.02% or 0.360 points to 35.500 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Alpek, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALPEKA), which fell 10.44% or 2.090 points to trade at 17.920 at the close. Alfa, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALFAA) declined 3.81% or 0.950 points to end at 23.990 and Grupo Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:GMEXICOB) was down 2.94% or 1.710 points to 56.430.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 122 to 121 and 10 ended unchanged.
Shares in Alpek, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALPEKA) fell to 52-week lows; down 10.44% or 2.090 to 17.920.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.45% or 6.03 to $1326.67 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 2.30% or 1.11 to hit $49.34 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 1.51% or 0.82 to trade at $55.09 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.10% to 17.7460, while EUR/MXN fell 0.56% to 21.0965.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.57% at 92.41.
