Investing.com – Mexico stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Consumer Staples, Financial Services and Healthcare sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC declined 0.53% to hit a new 1-month low.
The best performers of the session on the IPC were Grupo LALA SA de CV (MX:LALAB), which rose 2.14% or 0.66 points to trade at 31.56 at the close. Meanwhile, Ohl Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:OHLMEX) added 1.78% or 0.430 points to end at 24.570 and Grupo Financiero Inbursa , SAB De CV (MX:GFINBURO) was up 1.23% or 0.380 points to 31.290 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Grupo Financiero Santander Mexico SAB De CV (MX:SANMEXB), which fell 2.98% or 1.100 points to trade at 35.820 at the close. VOLARIS A (MX:VOLARA) declined 2.46% or 0.55 points to end at 21.79 and Wal - Mart De Mexico, SAB De CV (MX:WALMEX) was down 1.91% or 0.820 points to 42.180.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 121 to 99 and 9 ended unchanged.
Shares in VOLARIS A (MX:VOLARA) fell to 52-week lows; losing 2.46% or 0.55 to 21.79.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 1.09% or 14.60 to $1353.60 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 0.06% or 0.03 to hit $49.13 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 0.55% or 0.30 to trade at $54.50 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.72% to 17.6576, while EUR/MXN rose 0.19% to 21.2388.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.81% at 91.46.
