Investing.com – Mexico stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Healthcare, Industrials and Consumer Goods & Services sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC lost 0.35%.
The best performers of the session on the IPC were America Movil SAB de CV (MX:AMXL), which rose 1.95% or 0.320 points to trade at 16.750 at the close. Meanwhile, Grupo Financiero Santander Mexico SAB De CV (MX:SANMEXB) added 0.87% or 0.310 points to end at 35.790 and Grupo Aeroportuario Del CentroNorte (MX:OMAB) was up 0.74% or 0.730 points to 99.150 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Alfa, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALFAA), which fell 4.54% or 0.960 points to trade at 20.180 at the close. Alpek, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALPEKA) declined 3.24% or 0.610 points to end at 18.220 and Genomma Lab Internacional SAB De CV (MX:LABB) was down 2.70% or 0.630 points to 22.670.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 132 to 107 and 7 ended unchanged.
Shares in Alfa, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALFAA) fell to 5-year lows; falling 4.54% or 0.960 to 20.180.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.54% or 7.02 to $1295.92 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 1.23% or 0.63 to hit $50.67 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 0.98% or 0.56 to trade at $56.38 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 1.03% to 18.8942, while EUR/MXN rose 0.74% to 22.3499.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.17% at 92.95.
