Investing.com – Mexico stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Consumer Goods & Services, Materials and Industrials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC fell 0.33% to hit a new 1-month low.
The best performers of the session on the IPC were Grupo Televisa SAB Unit (MX:TLVACPO), which rose 1.24% or 1.09 points to trade at 88.74 at the close. Meanwhile, Grupo Financiero Inbursa , SAB De CV (MX:GFINBURO) added 0.96% or 0.300 points to end at 31.590 and Gentera SAB de CV (MX:GENTERA) was up 0.91% or 0.250 points to 27.640 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Grupo Elektra , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ELEKTRA), which fell 2.30% or 17.20 points to trade at 729.70 at the close. VOLARIS A (MX:VOLARA) declined 2.20% or 0.48 points to end at 21.31 and Grupo Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:GMEXICOB) was down 2.02% or 1.200 points to 58.070.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 158 to 107 and 7 ended unchanged.
Shares in VOLARIS A (MX:VOLARA) fell to 52-week lows; losing 2.20% or 0.48 to 21.31.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.11% or 1.51 to $1351.81 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 3.14% or 1.54 to hit $47.55 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 1.38% or 0.75 to trade at $53.74 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.11% to 17.6909, while EUR/MXN rose 0.21% to 21.2944.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.24% at 91.27.
