Investing.com – Mexico stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Consumer Goods & Services, Healthcare and Materials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC lost 0.32%.
The best performers of the session on the IPC were Alfa, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALFAA), which rose 1.47% or 0.360 points to trade at 24.880 at the close. Meanwhile, Alsea , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALSEA) added 0.74% or 0.500 points to end at 67.880 and Gentera SAB de CV (MX:GENTERA) was up 0.27% or 0.070 points to 26.090 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Nemak SAB de CV (MX:NEMAKA), which fell 3.86% or 0.59 points to trade at 14.69 at the close. Grupo Financiero Santander Mexico SAB De CV (MX:SANMEXB) declined 1.50% or 0.570 points to end at 37.480 and Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (MX:PENOLES) was down 1.47% or 6.59 points to 441.10.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 156 to 81 and 9 ended unchanged.
Shares in Nemak SAB de CV (MX:NEMAKA) fell to all time lows; losing 3.86% or 0.59 to 14.69.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.79% or 10.13 to $1293.03 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 0.45% or 0.21 to hit $46.99 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 1.21% or 0.61 to trade at $50.88 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 1.05% to 17.8475, while EUR/MXN rose 0.62% to 20.9198.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.25% at 93.64.
