Investing.com – Mexico stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Consumer Staples, Healthcare and Consumer Goods & Services sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC lost 0.19%.
The best performers of the session on the IPC were Alpek, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALPEKA), which rose 3.77% or 0.740 points to trade at 20.360 at the close. Meanwhile, VOLARIS A (MX:VOLARA) added 1.81% or 0.41 points to end at 23.06 and Alfa, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALFAA) was up 1.36% or 0.340 points to 25.370 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Wal - Mart De Mexico, SAB De CV (MX:WALMEX), which fell 1.49% or 0.660 points to trade at 43.670 at the close. Genomma Lab Internacional SAB De CV (MX:LABB) declined 1.48% or 0.340 points to end at 22.570 and Alsea , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALSEA) was down 1.40% or 0.930 points to 65.730.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 131 to 116 and 8 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.32% or 4.14 to $1296.14 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 0.78% or 0.37 to hit $47.80 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 0.52% or 0.27 to trade at $52.31 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.64% to 17.6125, while EUR/MXN rose 0.47% to 21.0161.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.87% at 92.42.
