Investing.com – Mexico stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Financial Services, Materials and Industrials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC fell 0.65%.
The best performers of the session on the IPC were Wal - Mart De Mexico, SAB De CV (MX:WALMEX), which rose 2.01% or 0.750 points to trade at 38.100 at the close. Meanwhile, Grupo Financiero Banorte (MX:GFNORTEO) added 0.88% or 0.730 points to end at 83.550 and Controladora Comercial Mexicana UBC (MX:COMEUBC) was up 0.62% or 0.290 points to 47.280 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (MX:PENOLES), which fell 5.21% or 14.820 points to trade at 269.540 at the close. Genomma Lab Internacional SAB De CV (MX:LABB) declined 4.52% or 0.590 points to end at 12.360 and Ohl Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:OHLMEX) was down 3.27% or 0.950 points to 28.210.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 92 to 35 and 3 ended unchanged.
Shares in Wal - Mart De Mexico, SAB De CV (MX:WALMEX) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 2.01% or 0.750 to 38.100.
Gold for April delivery was down 0.05% or 0.60 to $1161.00 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude Oil for delivery in April fell 0.40% or 0.20 to hit $48.77 a barrel, while the April Brent Oil contract fell 0.42% or 0.24 to trade at $56.45 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.17% to 15.6493, while EUR/MXN rose 0.00% to 16.7110.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.01% at 98.62.
