Investing.com – Mexico stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Consumer Staples, Financial Services and Materials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC gained 2.19%.
The best performers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (MX:PENOLES), which rose 7.72% or 19.08 points to trade at 266.31 at the close. Meanwhile, Alsea , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALSEA) added 4.82% or 2.190 points to end at 47.630 and Grupo Televisa SAB Unit (MX:TLVACPO) was up 4.57% or 2.63 points to 60.22 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Alpek, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALPEKA), which fell 1.45% or 0.400 points to trade at 27.260 at the close. Grupo Aeroportuario Del CentroNorte (MX:OMAB) declined 1.38% or 1.330 points to end at 94.970 and Gentera SAB de CV (MX:GENTERA) was down 0.91% or 0.140 points to 15.300.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 192 to 126 and 13 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 1.91% or 22.90 to $1222.10 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 0.60% or 0.34 to hit $56.80 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 0.53% or 0.35 to trade at $66.97 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.24% to 20.1789, while EUR/MXN rose 0.56% to 23.0465.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.49% at 96.32.
