Investing.com – Mexico stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Financial Services, Materials and Industrials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC rose 1.55%.
The best performers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (BMV:PEOLES), which rose 7.91% or 20.10 points to trade at 274.34 at the close. Meanwhile, Banco Del Bajio SA Institution De Banca Multiple (BMV:BBAJIOO) added 6.55% or 3.44 points to end at 55.97 and Qualitas Controladora, SAB De CV (BMV:Q) was up 5.18% or 8.46 points to 171.86 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Controladora Vuela Compania de Aviacion SAB de CV (BMV:VOLARA), which fell 0.43% or 0.05 points to trade at 11.49 at the close. Grupo Comercial Chedraui, SAB De CV (BMV:CHDRAUIB) declined 0.18% or 0.25 points to end at 138.60 and Grupo Elektra , S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:ELEKTRA) was 0.00% or 0.00 points to 944.95.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 132 to 69 and 8 ended unchanged.
Shares in Grupo Elektra, S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:ELEKTRA) unchanged to 52-week lows; unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to 944.95.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 1.69% or 41.40 to $2,493.30 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 5.23% or 3.91 to hit $78.64 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 0.13% or 0.11 to trade at $81.43 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.11% to 18.62, while EUR/MXN unchanged 0.02% to 20.16.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.47% at 103.82.
