Investing.com – Mexico stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Financial Services, Telecoms Services and Healthcare sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC added 1.35%.
The best performers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Grupo Financiero Inbursa , SAB De CV (MX:GFINBURO), which rose 5.12% or 1.360 points to trade at 27.910 at the close. Meanwhile, Gentera SAB de CV (MX:GENTERA) added 4.85% or 0.650 points to end at 14.050 and Grupo Financiero Banorte (MX:GFNORTEO) was up 4.34% or 3.840 points to 92.420 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were GMexico Transportes SA de CV (MX:GMXT), which fell 3.34% or 0.830 points to trade at 24.030 at the close. Grupo Cementos De Chihuahua (MX:GCC) declined 2.29% or 2.320 points to end at 98.990 and Becle SA (MX:CUERVO) was down 2.19% or 0.530 points to 23.650.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 139 to 138 and 7 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.12% or 1.50 to $1253.30 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February fell 7.77% or 3.90 to hit $46.30 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract fell 5.84% or 3.48 to trade at $56.13 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.04% to 20.0843, while EUR/MXN rose 0.19% to 22.8267.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.04% at 96.507.
