Investing.com – Mexico stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Healthcare, Financial Services and Materials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC rose 1.34% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were GMexico Transportes SA de CV (MX:GMXT), which rose 6.40% or 1.740 points to trade at 28.990 at the close. Meanwhile, Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (MX:PENOLES) added 5.32% or 17.98 points to end at 355.69 and Grupo Bimbo, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:BIMBOA) was up 4.28% or 1.590 points to 38.710 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Grupo Aeroportuario del Pacifico SAB De CV Class B (MX:GAPB), which fell 1.81% or 3.40 points to trade at 184.30 at the close. Becle SA (MX:CUERVO) declined 0.63% or 0.180 points to end at 28.620 and VOLARIS A (MX:VOLARA) was down 0.59% or 0.06 points to 10.12.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 246 to 110 and 12 ended unchanged.
Shares in VOLARIS A (MX:VOLARA) fell to 3-years lows; falling 0.59% or 0.06 to 10.12.
Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.26% or 3.30 to $1254.30 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 1.18% or 0.87 to hit $74.32 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 1.96% or 1.52 to trade at $79.13 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.86% to 19.8877, while EUR/MXN rose 1.94% to 23.2436.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.82% at 94.22.
