Investing.com – Mexico stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Financial Services, Telecoms Services and Industrials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC added 1.24% to hit a new 6-months high.
The best performers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Grupo Financiero Banorte (MX:GFNORTEO), which rose 4.86% or 6.180 points to trade at 133.230 at the close. Meanwhile, Grupo Carso, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:GCARSOA1) added 3.92% or 2.860 points to end at 75.820 and VOLARIS A (MX:VOLARA) was up 3.27% or 0.43 points to 13.58 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Infraestructura Energetica Nova SAB (MX:IENOVA), which fell 2.15% or 2.02 points to trade at 92.00 at the close. Megacable Holdings, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:MEGACPO) declined 1.86% or 1.610 points to end at 84.880 and Wal - Mart De Mexico, SAB De CV (MX:WALMEX) was down 1.46% or 0.790 points to 53.240.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 174 to 105 and 12 ended unchanged.
Shares in Grupo Financiero Banorte (MX:GFNORTEO) rose to all time highs; up 4.86% or 6.180 to 133.230.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.06% or 0.70 to $1218.40 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 0.17% or 0.12 to hit $69.13 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 1.02% or 0.75 to trade at $74.50 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.38% to 18.4554, while EUR/MXN rose 0.01% to 21.4056.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.20% at 95.00.
