Investing.com – Mexico stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Materials, Telecoms Services and Consumer Goods & Services sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC rose 0.97%.
The best performers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were El Puerto De Liverpool Sab De CV (MX:LIVEPOLC1), which rose 6.02% or 6.73 points to trade at 118.50 at the close. Meanwhile, Grupo Bimbo, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:BIMBOA) added 5.70% or 2.095 points to end at 38.845 and Mexichem , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:MEXCHEM) was up 4.89% or 2.110 points to 45.290 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Gentera SAB de CV (MX:GENTERA), which fell 6.50% or 0.900 points to trade at 12.950 at the close. GMexico Transportes SA de CV (MX:GMXT) declined 4.89% or 1.140 points to end at 22.160 and Genomma Lab Internacional SAB De CV (MX:LABB) was down 3.70% or 0.450 points to 11.720.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 166 to 148 and 10 ended unchanged.
Shares in GMexico Transportes SA de CV (MX:GMXT) fell to all time lows; down 4.89% or 1.140 to 22.160.
Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.65% or 8.00 to $1220.70 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 0.43% or 0.22 to hit $51.85 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 0.23% or 0.14 to trade at $60.70 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.73% to 20.4667, while EUR/MXN fell 1.02% to 23.1170.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.30% at 97.273.
