Investing.com – Mexico stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Consumer Goods & Services, Materials and Healthcare sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC gained 0.84% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Grupo Aeroportuario Del CentroNorte (MX:OMAB), which rose 4.24% or 4.190 points to trade at 103.000 at the close. Meanwhile, Alpek, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALPEKA) added 3.63% or 0.900 points to end at 25.700 and Mexichem , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:MEXCHEM) was up 3.10% or 1.500 points to 49.890 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Becle SA (MX:CUERVO), which fell 1.70% or 0.460 points to trade at 26.600 at the close. Grupo Financiero Banorte (MX:GFNORTEO) declined 0.82% or 0.780 points to end at 94.770 and Grupo Bimbo, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:BIMBOA) was down 0.58% or 0.230 points to 39.160.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 186 to 98 and 20 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.31% or 3.95 to $1289.75 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 1.46% or 0.70 to hit $48.66 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract rose 0.84% or 0.48 to trade at $57.54 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.34% to 19.3535, while EUR/MXN rose 0.41% to 22.2111.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.52% at 95.248.
