Investing.com – Mexico stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Telecoms Services, Industrials and Financial Services sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC gained 0.84%.
The best performers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Alfa, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALFAA), which rose 4.09% or 0.920 points to trade at 23.400 at the close. Meanwhile, America Movil SAB de CV (MX:AMXL) added 3.51% or 0.610 points to end at 17.990 and Becle SA (MX:CUERVO) was up 2.83% or 0.920 points to 33.480 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Cemex SAB de CV (MX:CMXCPO), which fell 1.49% or 0.210 points to trade at 13.930 at the close. Grupo Financiero Santander Mexico SAB de CV Class B (MX:BSMXB) declined 0.80% or 0.220 points to end at 27.390 and Infraestructura Energetica Nova SAB (MX:IENOVA) was down 0.44% or 0.42 points to 95.27.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 201 to 82 and 13 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.13% or 1.70 to $1356.30 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 1.35% or 0.82 to hit $61.42 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract fell 0.12% or 0.08 to trade at $64.42 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.00% to 18.5027, while EUR/MXN fell 0.01% to 23.1332.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.49% at 88.47.
