Investing.com – Mexico stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Financial Services, Industrials and Telecoms Services sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC gained 0.82%.
The best performers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Grupo Financiero Banorte (MX:GFNORTEO), which rose 4.66% or 4.340 points to trade at 97.490 at the close. Meanwhile, Alfa, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALFAA) added 3.32% or 0.680 points to end at 21.140 and Mexichem , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:MEXCHEM) was up 3.30% or 1.570 points to 49.130 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Grupo LALA SA de CV (MX:LALAB), which fell 4.23% or 0.78 points to trade at 17.66 at the close. Becle SA (MX:CUERVO) declined 3.44% or 0.880 points to end at 24.730 and Genomma Lab Internacional SAB De CV (MX:LABB) was down 3.19% or 0.400 points to 12.130.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 193 to 101 and 10 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.82% or 10.10 to $1236.10 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 4.32% or 2.20 to hit $53.13 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 4.05% or 2.41 to trade at $61.87 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.22% to 20.3484, while EUR/MXN rose 0.02% to 23.0951.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.29% at 96.912.
