Investing.com – Mexico stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Telecoms Services, Financial Services and Materials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC gained 0.75% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Grupo Financiero Santander Mexico SAB de CV Class B (MX:BSMXB), which rose 4.67% or 1.360 points to trade at 30.500 at the close. Meanwhile, PINFRA SAB De CV (MX:PINFRA) added 3.10% or 6.17 points to end at 205.26 and Banco Del Bajio SA Institution De Banca Multiple (MX:BBAJIOO) was up 2.01% or 0.930 points to 47.110 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Genomma Lab Internacional SAB De CV (MX:LABB), which fell 3.05% or 0.500 points to trade at 15.890 at the close. Grupo Elektra , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ELEKTRA) declined 2.04% or 17.41 points to end at 836.01 and Wal - Mart De Mexico, SAB De CV (MX:WALMEX) was down 1.10% or 0.630 points to 56.400.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 145 to 136 and 10 ended unchanged.
Shares in Banco Del Bajio SA Institution De Banca Multiple (MX:BBAJIOO) rose to all time highs; up 2.01% or 0.930 to 47.110.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.30% or 3.60 to $1192.60 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 3.26% or 2.39 to hit $75.64 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 2.91% or 2.41 to trade at $85.14 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.06% to 18.7077, while EUR/MXN fell 0.28% to 21.6595.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.12% at 94.91.
