Investing.com – Mexico stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Telecoms Services, Financial Services and Materials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC rose 0.67%.
The best performers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Grupo Aeroportuario Del Sureste (MX:ASURB), which rose 4.59% or 16.83 points to trade at 383.50 at the close. Meanwhile, Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (MX:PENOLES) added 3.78% or 11.75 points to end at 322.61 and Grupo Aeroportuario del Pacifico SAB De CV Class B (MX:GAPB) was up 2.89% or 5.66 points to 201.52 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Grupo Carso, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:GCARSOA1), which fell 3.69% or 2.570 points to trade at 66.990 at the close. Grupo Elektra , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ELEKTRA) declined 3.27% or 28.40 points to end at 839.34 and Nemak SAB de CV (MX:NEMAKA) was down 2.34% or 0.37 points to 15.47.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 175 to 143 and 13 ended unchanged.
Shares in Grupo Aeroportuario Del Sureste (MX:ASURB) rose to 52-week highs; up 4.59% or 16.83 to 383.50.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.78% or 9.40 to $1211.60 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 1.53% or 1.06 to hit $70.31 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 0.83% or 0.66 to trade at $79.72 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.78% to 19.0374, while EUR/MXN fell 0.57% to 22.1406.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.27% at 94.79.
