Investing.com – Mexico stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Financial Services, Telecoms Services and Consumer Staples sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC added 0.64%.
The best performers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Mexichem , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:MEXCHEM), which rose 2.94% or 1.390 points to trade at 48.710 at the close. Meanwhile, Grupo Financiero Banorte (MX:GFNORTEO) added 2.60% or 2.810 points to end at 110.870 and Fomento Economico Mexicano UBD (MX:FMSAUBD) was up 1.66% or 2.88 points to 176.34 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were VOLARIS A (MX:VOLARA), which fell 2.18% or 0.38 points to trade at 17.06 at the close. Grupo Elektra , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ELEKTRA) declined 1.77% or 13.73 points to end at 760.02 and Grupo Financiero Santander Mexico SAB De CV (MX:SANMEXB) was down 0.95% or 0.280 points to 29.090.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 123 to 97 and 19 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.73% or 9.30 to $1268.40 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 0.02% or 0.01 to hit $57.48 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 0.02% or 0.01 to trade at $62.67 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.03% to 18.7615, while EUR/MXN rose 0.00% to 22.1903.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.24% at 93.27.
