Investing.com – Mexico stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Financial Services, Materials and Healthcare sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC added 0.57% to hit a new 3-months high.
The best performers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were El Puerto De Liverpool Sab De CV (MX:LIVEPOLC1), which rose 2.36% or 3.22 points to trade at 139.67 at the close. Meanwhile, Genomma Lab Internacional SAB De CV (MX:LABB) added 2.20% or 0.480 points to end at 22.280 and Grupo Financiero Banorte (MX:GFNORTEO) was up 1.87% or 2.160 points to 117.690 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Grupo Televisa SAB Unit (MX:TLVACPO), which fell 4.86% or 3.79 points to trade at 74.21 at the close. Grupo Aeroportuario Del Sureste (MX:ASURB) declined 1.73% or 6.35 points to end at 359.92 and Grupo LALA SA de CV (MX:LALAB) was down 1.54% or 0.47 points to 30.02.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 157 to 126 and 13 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for February delivery was down 1.06% or 14.50 to $1348.40 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 1.08% or 0.71 to hit $66.22 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract rose 0.06% or 0.04 to trade at $70.46 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.64% to 18.4898, while EUR/MXN fell 0.33% to 22.9862.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.36% at 88.87.
