Investing.com – Mexico stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Materials, Consumer Goods & Services and Healthcare sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC gained 0.35%.
The best performers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Grupo LALA SA de CV (MX:LALAB), which rose 8.60% or 1.82 points to trade at 22.98 at the close. Meanwhile, Alpek, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALPEKA) added 4.04% or 1.100 points to end at 28.300 and Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (MX:PENOLES) was up 3.44% or 12.07 points to 362.95 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Grupo Aeroportuario del Pacifico SAB De CV Class B (MX:GAPB), which fell 2.63% or 4.77 points to trade at 176.73 at the close. Gentera SAB de CV (MX:GENTERA) declined 1.82% or 0.260 points to end at 14.040 and Grupo Financiero Banorte (MX:GFNORTEO) was down 1.19% or 1.350 points to 112.040.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 193 to 117 and 13 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.02% or 0.30 to $1290.00 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 0.35% or 0.25 to hit $71.56 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 1.05% or 0.82 to trade at $79.25 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.51% to 19.5947, while EUR/MXN fell 0.76% to 23.1355.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.12% at 93.25.
