Investing.com – Mexico stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Consumer Goods & Services, Telecoms Services and Industrials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC added 0.27%.
The best performers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Gruma SAB de CV (MX:GRUMAB), which rose 2.88% or 6.40 points to trade at 228.70 at the close. Meanwhile, Grupo Carso, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:GCARSOA1) added 2.25% or 1.570 points to end at 71.390 and Grupo Elektra , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ELEKTRA) was up 1.76% or 11.84 points to 684.23 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Wal - Mart De Mexico, SAB De CV (MX:WALMEX), which fell 0.66% or 0.310 points to trade at 46.330 at the close. Grupo Financiero Banorte (MX:GFNORTEO) declined 0.57% or 0.680 points to end at 118.900 and Gentera SAB de CV (MX:GENTERA) was down 0.53% or 0.090 points to 16.780.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 201 to 91 and 13 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.66% or 8.80 to $1351.90 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 1.92% or 1.24 to hit $65.97 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract rose 0.04% or 0.03 to trade at $69.75 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.02% to 18.3430, while EUR/MXN fell 0.01% to 22.9445.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.53% at 88.48.
