Investing.com – Mexico stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Industrials, Telecoms Services and Consumer Goods & Services sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC gained 0.21% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Grupo Carso, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:GCARSOA1), which rose 5.27% or 3.370 points to trade at 67.280 at the close. Meanwhile, Arca Continental , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:AC) added 1.69% or 2.01 points to end at 121.09 and Grupo Elektra , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ELEKTRA) was up 1.52% or 7.95 points to 531.01 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Gentera SAB de CV (MX:GENTERA), which fell 3.20% or 0.550 points to trade at 16.650 at the close. Megacable Holdings, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:MEGACPO) declined 2.36% or 2.040 points to end at 84.510 and Grupo LALA SA de CV (MX:LALAB) was down 2.00% or 0.43 points to 21.09.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 160 to 146 and 18 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.25% or 3.30 to $1302.70 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 0.45% or 0.30 to hit $66.66 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 0.90% or 0.68 to trade at $76.56 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.14% to 20.6875, while EUR/MXN rose 0.25% to 24.3898.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.26% at 93.59.
