Investing.com – Mexico stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Healthcare, Consumer Goods & Services and Materials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC gained 0.14%.
The best performers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Grupo Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:GMEXICOB), which rose 2.43% or 1.370 points to trade at 57.640 at the close. Meanwhile, Megacable Holdings, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:MEGACPO) added 2.30% or 1.900 points to end at 84.620 and Grupo Elektra , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ELEKTRA) was up 2.01% or 10.36 points to 524.61 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (MX:PENOLES), which fell 2.70% or 9.13 points to trade at 329.00 at the close. Arca Continental , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:AC) declined 1.73% or 2.02 points to end at 114.85 and Grupo Bimbo, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:BIMBOA) was down 1.33% or 0.490 points to 36.260.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 189 to 115 and 20 ended unchanged.
Shares in Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (MX:PENOLES) fell to 52-week lows; losing 2.70% or 9.13 to 329.00. Shares in Arca Continental, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:AC) fell to 52-week lows; losing 1.73% or 2.02 to 114.85. Shares in Grupo Bimbo, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:BIMBOA) fell to 3-years lows; falling 1.33% or 0.490 to 36.260.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.11% or 1.40 to $1300.80 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 0.79% or 0.52 to hit $65.00 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 0.49% or 0.37 to trade at $75.75 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.83% to 20.2965, while EUR/MXN fell 0.33% to 23.8925.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.25% at 93.62.
