Investing.com – Mexico stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Telecoms Services, Industrials and Consumer Goods & Services sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC gained 0.06%.
The best performers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Grupo Carso, S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:GCARSOA1), which rose 4.55% or 6.33 points to trade at 145.46 at the close. Meanwhile, Gruma SAB de CV (BMV:GRUMAB) added 3.65% or 12.20 points to end at 346.82 and Becle SA (BMV:CUERVO) was up 2.77% or 1.00 points to 37.04 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Bolsa Mexicana De Valores SAB De CV (BMV:BOLSAA), which fell 3.29% or 1.08 points to trade at 31.72 at the close. Qualitas Controladora, SAB De CV (BMV:Q) declined 2.83% or 5.65 points to end at 194.25 and Grupo Aeroportuario Del CentroNorte (BMV:OMAB) was down 2.69% or 4.50 points to 162.50.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 131 to 103 and 14 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.28% or 6.45 to $2,333.45 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 0.36% or 0.28 to hit $78.02 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 0.40% or 0.33 to trade at $81.96 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 1.98% to 18.57, while EUR/MXN rose 1.62% to 19.94.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.24% at 104.86.
