Investing.com – Mexico stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Consumer Staples, Industrials and Consumer Goods & Services sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC rose 0.06%.
The best performers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Cemex SAB de CV (MX:CMXCPO), which rose 1.68% or 0.220 points to trade at 13.290 at the close. Meanwhile, Grupo Elektra , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ELEKTRA) added 1.41% or 11.73 points to end at 843.00 and Grupo Aeroportuario Del CentroNorte (MX:OMAB) was up 1.33% or 1.720 points to 131.530 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Grupo Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:GMEXICOB), which fell 1.86% or 1.040 points to trade at 54.820 at the close. Infraestructura Energetica Nova SAB (MX:IENOVA) declined 1.74% or 1.63 points to end at 92.00 and El Puerto De Liverpool Sab De CV (MX:LIVEPOLC1) was down 1.71% or 2.41 points to 138.37.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 162 to 96 and 11 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 1.03% or 12.30 to $1186.80 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 0.78% or 0.56 to hit $72.13 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 0.59% or 0.48 to trade at $81.27 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.24% to 18.7965, while EUR/MXN fell 1.09% to 21.8867.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.77% at 94.60.
