Investing.com – Mexico stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Healthcare, Consumer Goods & Services and Materials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC gained 0.84%.
The best performers of the session on the IPC were Alpek, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALPEKA), which rose 6.38% or 1.170 points to trade at 19.500 at the close. Meanwhile, Genomma Lab Internacional SAB De CV (MX:LABB) added 5.20% or 1.180 points to end at 23.890 and Kimberly - Clark De Mexico A (MX:KIMBERA) was up 4.96% or 1.610 points to 34.090 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were VOLARIS A (MX:VOLARA), which fell 2.80% or 0.59 points to trade at 20.45 at the close. Grupo Financiero Santander Mexico SAB De CV (MX:SANMEXB) declined 2.72% or 0.960 points to end at 34.300 and Fomento Economico Mexicano UBD (MX:FMSAUBD) was down 1.45% or 2.57 points to 175.02.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 144 to 129 and 9 ended unchanged.
Shares in VOLARIS A (MX:VOLARA) fell to 52-week lows; losing 2.80% or 0.59 to 20.45.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 1.17% or 15.24 to $1287.76 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 0.31% or 0.16 to hit $52.03 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 0.61% or 0.35 to trade at $58.17 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 1.39% to 18.7691, while EUR/MXN fell 1.63% to 22.0837.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.24% at 93.36.
