Investing.com – Mexico stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Consumer Staples, Financial Services and Healthcare sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC gained 0.42%.
The best performers of the session on the IPC were Bolsa Mexicana De Valores SAB De CV (MX:BOLSAA), which rose 4.29% or 1.270 points to trade at 30.850 at the close. Meanwhile, Grupo Financiero Inbursa , SAB De CV (MX:GFINBURO) added 3.73% or 1.110 points to end at 30.880 and Wal - Mart De Mexico, SAB De CV (MX:WALMEX) was up 2.72% or 1.140 points to 43.070 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Grupo Elektra , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ELEKTRA), which fell 1.77% or 13.50 points to trade at 750.33 at the close. Banregio Grupo Financiero SAB De CV (MX:GFREGIOO) declined 1.51% or 1.71 points to end at 111.63 and Alfa, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALFAA) was down 1.48% or 0.360 points to 23.980.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 130 to 108 and 16 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.38% or 5.12 to $1339.38 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 0.86% or 0.42 to hit $49.08 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 1.46% or 0.78 to trade at $54.16 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.70% to 17.7747, while EUR/MXN fell 0.66% to 21.1860.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.08% at 92.21.
