Investing.com – Mexico stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Financial Services, Telecoms Services and Consumer Staples sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC added 0.36%.
The best performers of the session on the IPC were Fomento Economico Mexicano UBD (MX:FMSAUBD), which rose 2.68% or 4.65 points to trade at 178.22 at the close. Meanwhile, Grupo Financiero Santander Mexico SAB De CV (MX:SANMEXB) added 1.28% or 0.450 points to end at 35.690 and Grupo Financiero Banorte (MX:GFNORTEO) was up 1.27% or 1.590 points to 126.890 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Becle SA (MX:CUERVO), which fell 2.27% or 0.700 points to trade at 30.170 at the close. Alpek, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALPEKA) declined 2.23% or 0.400 points to end at 17.550 and Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (MX:PENOLES) was down 2.01% or 9.10 points to 444.03.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 148 to 89 and 8 ended unchanged.
Shares in Grupo Financiero Banorte (MX:GFNORTEO) rose to all time highs; gaining 1.27% or 1.590 to 126.890.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 1.61% or 21.19 to $1295.21 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 0.06% or 0.03 to hit $50.72 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 0.34% or 0.19 to trade at $56.48 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.66% to 17.8890, while EUR/MXN rose 1.10% to 21.3632.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.26% at 91.98.
