Investing.com – Mexico stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Consumer Staples, Consumer Goods & Services and Telecoms Services sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC added 0.31%.
The best performers of the session on the IPC were Grupo Aeroportuario Del Sureste (MX:ASURB), which rose 3.73% or 12.28 points to trade at 341.13 at the close. Meanwhile, Wal - Mart De Mexico, SAB De CV (MX:WALMEX) added 3.68% or 1.560 points to end at 43.970 and Mexichem, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:MEXCHEM) was up 1.92% or 0.920 points to 48.840 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Cemex SAB de CV (MX:CMXCPO), which fell 3.21% or 0.510 points to trade at 15.400 at the close. Nemak SAB de CV (MX:NEMAKA) declined 2.62% or 0.42 points to end at 15.64 and Gentera SAB de CV (MX:GENTERA) was down 2.23% or 0.600 points to 26.360.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 144 to 118 and 7 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.06% or 0.72 to $1294.52 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 0.20% or 0.10 to hit $51.02 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 0.04% or 0.02 to trade at $56.63 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.67% to 18.7101, while EUR/MXN fell 0.18% to 22.1965.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.37% at 92.75.
