Investing.com – Mexico stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Telecoms Services, Industrials and Consumer Goods & Services sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC gained 0.12%.
The best performers of the session on the IPC were Grupo Aeroportuario Del CentroNorte (MX:OMAB), which rose 2.79% or 2.730 points to trade at 100.460 at the close. Meanwhile, Alpek, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALPEKA) added 2.18% or 0.430 points to end at 20.130 and America Movil SAB de CV (MX:AMXL) was up 2.16% or 0.370 points to 17.510 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were VOLARIS A (MX:VOLARA), which fell 1.82% or 0.37 points to trade at 19.92 at the close. Nemak SAB de CV (MX:NEMAKA) declined 1.69% or 0.25 points to end at 14.56 and Wal - Mart De Mexico, SAB De CV (MX:WALMEX) was down 1.26% or 0.550 points to 43.100.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 158 to 110 and 9 ended unchanged.
Shares in VOLARIS A (MX:VOLARA) fell to 52-week lows; down 1.82% or 0.37 to 19.92. Shares in America Movil SAB de CV (MX:AMXL) rose to 3-years highs; rising 2.16% or 0.370 to 17.510.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.69% or 8.84 to $1291.84 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 1.23% or 0.64 to hit $51.40 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 1.51% or 0.88 to trade at $57.27 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.29% to 18.7997, while EUR/MXN rose 0.17% to 22.2787.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.33% at 92.99.
