Investing.com – Mexico stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Financial Services, Materials and Industrials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC rose 1.52%.
The best performers of the session on the IPC were Alfa, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALFAA), which rose 7.17% or 1.970 points to trade at 29.530 at the close. Meanwhile, Grupo Bimbo, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:BIMBOA) added 4.27% or 1.630 points to end at 39.800 and Grupo Financiero Banorte (MX:GFNORTEO) was up 4.18% or 3.180 points to 79.100 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Grupo Comercial Chedraui, SAB De CV (MX:CHDRAUIB), which fell 2.77% or 1.150 points to trade at 40.890 at the close. Empresas ICA, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ICA) declined 2.63% or 0.410 points to end at 15.100 and Banregio Grupo Financiero SAB De CV (MX:GFREGIOO) was down 2.09% or 1.620 points to 76.000.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 78 to 53 and 2 ended unchanged.
Shares in Empresas ICA, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ICA) fell to 3-year lows; falling 2.63% or 0.410 to 15.100.
Gold for April delivery was down 1.21% or 15.40 to $1261.50 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude Oil for delivery in March rose 4.38% or 2.17 to hit $51.74 a barrel, while the March Brent Oil contract rose 4.07% or 2.23 to trade at $56.98 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 1.38% to 14.6628, while EUR/MXN fell 0.13% to 16.8391.
The US Dollar Index was down 1.11% at 93.76.
