Investing.com – Malaysia stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Construction, Industrials and Trade & Services sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Kuala Lumpur, the FTSE Malaysia KLCI gained 1.25%.
The best performers of the session on the FTSE Malaysia KLCI were MISC Bhd (KL:MISC), which rose 5.31% or 0.41 points to trade at 8.13 at the close. Meanwhile, Telekom Malaysia Bhd (KL:TLMM) added 3.67% or 0.24 points to end at 6.78 and IHH Healthcare Bhd (KL:IHHH) was up 3.36% or 0.19 points to 5.85 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Astro Malaysia Holdings Bhd (KL:ASTR), which fell 2.60% or 0.08 points to trade at 3.00 at the close. YTL Corporation Bhd (KL:YTLS) declined 1.29% or 0.02 points to end at 1.53 and PPB Group Bhd (KL:PEPT) was down 0.13% or 0.02 points to 15.10.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange by 437 to 123 and 38 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for August delivery was down 1.08% or 0.65 to $58.83 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in August fell 0.49% or 0.31 to hit $63.28 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.01% or 0.10 to trade at $1171.70 a troy ounce.
SGD/MYR was down 0.10% to 2.7830, while USD/MYR fell 0.12% to 3.7485.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.09% at 95.83.
