Investing.com – India stocks were mixed after the close on Friday, as gains in the Healthcare, IT and Power sectors led shares higher while losses in the Metals, Oil & Gas and Banking sectors led shares lower.
At the close in NSE, the Nifty 50 rose 0.03%, while the BSE Sensex 30 index lost 0.12%.
The best performers of the session on the Nifty 50 were Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories Ltd (NS:REDY), which rose 4.70% or 111.85 points to trade at 2492.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Tech Mahindra Ltd (NS:TEML) added 4.66% or 34.10 points to end at 765.80 and Lupin Ltd (NS:LUPN) was up 4.24% or 37.85 points to 931.45 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Yes Bank Ltd (NS:YESB), which fell 5.04% or 18.25 points to trade at 343.50 at the close. Bajaj Finserv Ltd (NS:BJFS) declined 2.63% or 182.10 points to end at 6747.80 and Reliance Industries Ltd (NS:RELI) was down 2.57% or 32.80 points to 1241.65.
The top performers on the BSE Sensex 30 were Tata Motors Ltd (BO:TAMO) which rose 2.87% to 267.10, Tata Motors Ltd DVR (BO:TAMdv) which was up 2.63% to settle at 142.20 and Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd (BO:PGRD) which gained 2.37% to close at 200.60.
The worst performers were Yes Bank Ltd (BO:YESB) which was down 5.11% to 343.40 in late trade, Reliance Industries Ltd (BO:RELI) which lost 2.60% to settle at 1240.95 and Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (BO:MAHM) which was down 1.75% to 965.25 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the India National Stock Exchange by 821 to 768 and 66 ended unchanged; on the Bombay Stock Exchange, 1351 rose and 1180 declined, while 164 ended unchanged.
Shares in Tech Mahindra Ltd (NS:TEML) rose to all time highs; rising 4.66% or 34.10 to 765.80.
The India VIX, which measures the implied volatility of Nifty 50 options, was up 1.49% to 12.5975.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.60% or 7.20 to $1212.20 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 0.68% or 0.48 to hit $69.77 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 0.56% or 0.44 to trade at $77.58 a barrel.
USD/INR was down 0.17% to 70.945, while EUR/INR rose 0.10% to 82.6445.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.03% at 94.67.
