Investing.com – India stocks were mixed after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Real Estate, Healthcare and Capital Goods sectors led shares higher while losses in the Consumer Durables, IT and Fast Moving Consumer Goods sectors led shares lower.
At the close in NSE, the Nifty 50 fell 0.02% to hit a new 1-month low, while the BSE Sensex 30 index climbed 0.03%.
The best performers of the session on the Nifty 50 were Bajaj Finance Ltd (NS:BJFN), which rose 5.59% or 190.70 points to trade at 3603.10 at the close. Meanwhile, Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (NS:SUN) added 5.51% or 20.20 points to end at 386.40 and Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (NS:IOC) was up 5.73% or 8.25 points to 151.40 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Titan Company Ltd (NS:TITN), which fell 12.25% or 153.45 points to trade at 1098.95 at the close. UPL Ltd (NS:UPLL) declined 3.55% or 23.50 points to end at 640.05 and GAIL Ltd (NS:GAIL) was down 2.45% or 3.70 points to 147.10.
The top performers on the BSE Sensex 30 were Bajaj Finance Ltd (BO:BJFN) which rose 5.52% to 3603.35, Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (BO:SUN) which was up 5.28% to settle at 386.50 and Hero MotoCorp Ltd (BO:HROM) which gained 3.14% to close at 2455.00.
The worst performers were Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (BO:TCS) which was down 2.05% to 2131.45 in late trade, Yes Bank Ltd (BO:YESB) which lost 1.88% to settle at 91.35 and HCL Technologies Ltd (BO:HCLT) which was down 1.65% to 1021.40 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the India National Stock Exchange by 788 to 776 and 66 ended unchanged; on the Bombay Stock Exchange, 1214 fell and 1138 advanced, while 148 ended unchanged.
Shares in GAIL Ltd (NS:GAIL) fell to 5-year lows; down 2.45% or 3.70 to 147.10.
The India VIX, which measures the implied volatility of Nifty 50 options, was down 1.19% to 13.6875.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.60% or 8.45 to $1391.55 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 0.69% or 0.40 to hit $58.06 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 0.78% or 0.50 to trade at $64.61 a barrel.
USD/INR was up 0.06% to 68.595, while EUR/INR rose 0.01% to 76.8680.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.12% at 97.102.
