Investing.com – India stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Real Estate, Oil & Gas and Public Sector Undertakings sectors led shares lower.
At the close in NSE, the Nifty 50 unchanged 0.00%, while the BSE Sensex 30 index fell 0.26%.
The best performers of the session on the Nifty 50 were Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (NS:MAHM), which rose 2.89% or 83.55 points to trade at 2,974.90 at the close. Meanwhile, Titan Company Ltd (NS:TITN) added 2.10% or 65.40 points to end at 3,186.25 and Tech Mahindra Ltd (NS:TEML) was up 1.84% or 30.35 points to 1,681.35 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Trent Ltd (NS:TREN), which fell 3.18% or 206.55 points to trade at 6,298.95 at the close. Coal India Ltd (NS:COAL) declined 2.60% or 11.30 points to end at 424.05 and Asian Paints Ltd. (NS:ASPN) was down 2.58% or 73.40 points to 2,769.45.
The top performers on the BSE Sensex 30 were Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (BO:MAHM) which rose 2.69% to 2,967.65, Titan Company Ltd (BO:TITN) which was up 2.13% to settle at 3,186.35 and Tech Mahindra Ltd (BO:TEML) which gained 1.59% to close at 1,677.35.
The worst performers were Asian Paints Ltd. (BO:ASPN) which was down 2.62% to 2,769.00 in late trade, Tata Steel Ltd (BO:TISC) which lost 2.35% to settle at 147.35 and State Bank Of India (BO:SBI) which was down 2.11% to 841.10 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the India National Stock Exchange by 1841 to 627 and 146 ended unchanged; on the Bombay Stock Exchange, 2449 fell and 1328 advanced, while 93 ended unchanged.
The India VIX, which measures the implied volatility of Nifty 50 options, was down 3.15% to 20.08.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.48% or 13.00 to $2,692.80 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 1.62% or 1.17 to hit $71.19 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 1.34% or 1.01 to trade at $74.62 a barrel.
USD/INR was up 0.09% to 84.37, while EUR/INR fell 0.18% to 90.90.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.06% at 104.43.
