Investing.com – India stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Healthcare, Banking and Fast Moving Consumer Goods sectors led shares lower.
At the close in NSE, the Nifty 50 declined 0.59%, while the BSE Sensex 30 index declined 0.56%.
The best performers of the session on the Nifty 50 were HCL Technologies Ltd (NS:HCLT), which rose 3.28% or 37.15 points to trade at 1,171.45 at the close. Meanwhile, Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd (NS:PGRD) added 1.03% or 2.50 points to end at 244.30 and Titan Company Ltd (NS:TITN) was up 0.96% or 28.70 points to 3,017.25 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were IndusInd Bank Ltd. (NS:INBK), which fell 2.30% or 32.95 points to trade at 1,397.25 at the close. NTPC Ltd (NS:NTPC) declined 1.93% or 4.20 points to end at 213.20 and Divi's Laboratories Ltd. (NS:DIVI) was down 1.77% or 66.35 points to 3,679.15.
The top performers on the BSE Sensex 30 were HCL Technologies Ltd (BO:HCLT) which rose 3.24% to 1,171.35, Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd (BO:PGRD) which was up 0.95% to settle at 244.30 and Titan Company Ltd (BO:TITN) which gained 0.88% to close at 3,015.85.
The worst performers were IndusInd Bank Ltd. (BO:INBK) which was down 2.31% to 1,397.20 in late trade, NTPC Ltd (BO:NTPC) which lost 2.02% to settle at 213.00 and Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (BO:SUN) which was down 1.59% to 1,132.25 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the India National Stock Exchange by 1205 to 784 and 57 ended unchanged; on the Bombay Stock Exchange, 1961 fell and 1481 advanced, while 148 ended unchanged.
The India VIX, which measures the implied volatility of Nifty 50 options, was up 1.07% to 11.52.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.08% or 1.65 to $1,950.55 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 0.25% or 0.21 to hit $83.03 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 0.30% or 0.26 to trade at $86.66 a barrel.
USD/INR was down 0.06% to 82.82, while EUR/INR rose 0.15% to 91.06.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.01% at 102.37.
