Investing.com – India stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Auto, Oil & Gas and Real Estate sectors led shares lower.
At the close in NSE, the Nifty 50 declined 0.48%, while the BSE Sensex 30 index fell 0.45%.
The best performers of the session on the Nifty 50 were Indiabulls Housing Finance Ltd (NS:INBF), which rose 3.64% or 15.70 points to trade at 449.40 at the close. Meanwhile, UltraTech Cement Ltd (NS:ULTC) added 2.47% or 96.60 points to end at 4002.05 and ICICI Bank Ltd (NS:ICBK) was up 2.03% or 8.00 points to 402.70 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Yes Bank Ltd (NS:YESB), which fell 4.68% or 3.35 points to trade at 67.95 at the close. Tata Motors Ltd (NS:TAMO) declined 3.80% or 5.10 points to end at 127.95 and Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. (NS:MRTI) was down 3.01% or 198.55 points to 6392.05.
The top performers on the BSE Sensex 30 were ICICI Bank Ltd (BO:ICBK) which rose 2.13% to 402.75, Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (BO:SUN) which was up 1.34% to settle at 427.70 and IndusInd Bank Ltd. (BO:INBK) which gained 1.26% to close at 1389.05.
The worst performers were Yes Bank Ltd (BO:YESB) which was down 5.10% to 67.95 in late trade, Tata Motors Ltd DVR (BO:TAMdv) which lost 4.87% to settle at 58.60 and Tata Motors Ltd (BO:TAMO) which was down 4.76% to 127.95 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the India National Stock Exchange by 852 to 727 and 55 ended unchanged; on the Bombay Stock Exchange, 1306 rose and 1071 declined, while 159 ended unchanged.
The India VIX, which measures the implied volatility of Nifty 50 options, was down 3.07% to 14.9000 a new 1-month low.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.46% or 6.95 to $1510.15 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 0.83% or 0.46 to hit $55.29 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 1.13% or 0.69 to trade at $60.12 a barrel.
USD/INR was down 0.42% to 71.250, while EUR/INR fell 0.28% to 78.5460.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.08% at 98.553.
