Investing.com – India stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Healthcare, Fast Moving Consumer Goods and IT sectors led shares lower.
At the close in NSE, the Nifty 50 fell 0.36%, while the BSE Sensex 30 index fell 0.46%.
The best performers of the session on the Nifty 50 were Indiabulls Housing Finance Ltd (NS:INBF), which rose 1.89% or 23.45 points to trade at 1264.30 at the close. Meanwhile, Hindalco Industries Ltd. (NS:HALC) added 1.61% or 3.90 points to end at 245.80 and UltraTech Cement Ltd (NS:ULTC) was up 1.27% or 52.15 points to 4150.25 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (NS:SUN), which fell 3.58% or 17.60 points to trade at 474.25 at the close. Bosch Ltd (NS:BOSH) declined 2.58% or 574.30 points to end at 21661.90 and ITC Ltd (NS:ITC) was down 2.53% or 7.15 points to 275.70.
The top performers on the BSE Sensex 30 were Gail (India) Ltd. (BO:GAIL) which rose 0.75% to 382.20, Reliance Industries Ltd (BO:RELI) which was up 0.71% to settle at 1644.60 and Coal India Ltd (BO:COAL) which gained 0.69% to close at 255.45.
The worst performers were Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (BO:SUN) which was down 3.73% to 475.00 in late trade, ITC Ltd (BO:ITC) which lost 2.43% to settle at 275.55 and Lupin Ltd (BO:LUPN) which was down 2.05% to 971.30 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the India National Stock Exchange by 788 to 756 and 27 ended unchanged; on the Bombay Stock Exchange, 1311 rose and 1194 declined, while 132 ended unchanged.
Shares in Indiabulls Housing Finance Ltd (NS:INBF) rose to all time highs; up 1.89% or 23.45 to 1264.30. Shares in Hindalco Industries Ltd. (NS:HALC) rose to 5-year highs; gaining 1.61% or 3.90 to 245.80.
The India VIX, which measures the implied volatility of Nifty 50 options, was up 1.80% to 13.1200.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.04% or 0.60 to $1343.90 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 0.35% or 0.17 to hit $48.83 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 0.86% or 0.46 to trade at $53.84 a barrel.
USD/INR was up 0.07% to 64.135, while EUR/INR rose 0.20% to 76.5175.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.09% at 92.20.
