Investing.com – India stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Real Estate, Power and Oil & Gas sectors led shares lower.
At the close in NSE, the Nifty 50 fell 0.28%, while the BSE Sensex 30 index lost 0.21%.
The best performers of the session on the Nifty 50 were Bajaj Finance Ltd (NS:BJFN), which rose 1.27% or 84.95 points to trade at 6,790.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd. (NS:KTKM) added 0.96% or 18.25 points to end at 1,927.40 and Bharti Airtel Ltd. (NS:BRTI) was up 0.90% or 7.10 points to 799.35 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Divi's Laboratories Ltd. (NS:DIVI), which fell 3.50% or 114.50 points to trade at 3,153.50 at the close. Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Ltd (NS:APSE) declined 2.87% or 19.65 points to end at 664.95 and State Bank Of India (NS:SBI) was down 2.06% or 12.10 points to 574.20.
The top performers on the BSE Sensex 30 were Bajaj Finance Ltd (BO:BJFN) which rose 1.22% to 6,790.05, Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd. (BO:KTKM) which was up 1.03% to settle at 1,928.80 and Bharti Airtel Ltd (BO:BRTI) which gained 0.94% to close at 799.70.
The worst performers were State Bank Of India (BO:SBI) which was down 2.11% to 574.15 in late trade, ITC Ltd (BO:ITC) which lost 1.87% to settle at 419.65 and Titan Company Ltd (BO:TITN) which was down 1.51% to 2,720.65 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the India National Stock Exchange by 1109 to 812 and 60 ended unchanged; on the Bombay Stock Exchange, 1845 fell and 1521 advanced, while 119 ended unchanged.
The India VIX, which measures the implied volatility of Nifty 50 options, was down 2.37% to 12.80.
Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.26% or 5.25 to $1,979.65 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 0.29% or 0.21 to hit $72.62 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 0.30% or 0.23 to trade at $76.73 a barrel.
USD/INR was up 0.13% to 82.57, while EUR/INR fell 0.08% to 89.25.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.27% at 103.01.
