Investing.com – India stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Real Estate, Fast Moving Consumer Goods and Healthcare sectors led shares lower.
At the close in NSE, the Nifty 50 declined 0.21%, while the BSE Sensex 30 index fell 0.18%.
The best performers of the session on the Nifty 50 were Titan Company Ltd (NS:TITN), which rose 3.11% or 112.30 points to trade at 3,720.00 at the close. Meanwhile, LTIMindtree Ltd (NS:LTIM) added 1.44% or 87.40 points to end at 6,158.60 and Wipro Ltd (NS:WIPR) was up 1.16% or 6.00 points to 525.15 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Cipla Ltd. (NS:CIPL), which fell 1.46% or 24.20 points to trade at 1,627.70 at the close. Coal India Ltd (NS:COAL) declined 1.29% or 6.50 points to end at 497.15 and Dr Reddy’s Laboratories Ltd (NS:REDY) was down 1.28% or 87.20 points to 6,700.00.
The top performers on the BSE Sensex 30 were Titan Company Ltd (BO:TITN) which rose 2.78% to 3,709.45, Wipro Ltd (BO:WIPR) which was up 1.10% to settle at 524.85 and ITC Ltd (BO:ITC) which gained 0.97% to close at 511.55.
The worst performers were Reliance Industries Ltd (BO:RELI) which was down 1.25% to 2,991.95 in late trade, Bharti Airtel Ltd (BO:BRTI) which lost 1.09% to settle at 1,545.05 and Tata Motors Ltd (BO:TAMO) which was down 1.05% to 1,068.95 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the India National Stock Exchange by 1455 to 1002 and 18 ended unchanged; on the Bombay Stock Exchange, 2177 rose and 1600 declined, while 98 ended unchanged.
Shares in ITC Ltd (BO:ITC) rose to all time highs; gaining 0.97% or 4.90 to 511.55.
The India VIX, which measures the implied volatility of Nifty 50 options, was down 1.10% to 14.22.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.83% or 21.05 to $2,547.05 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 0.35% or 0.24 to hit $69.44 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 0.52% or 0.38 to trade at $73.08 a barrel.
USD/INR was unchanged 0.00% to 83.98, while EUR/INR rose 0.12% to 93.18.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.15% at 101.15.
