Investing.com – India stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Consumer Durables, Healthcare and Capital Goods sectors led shares lower.
At the close in NSE, the Nifty 50 declined 0.20%, while the BSE Sensex 30 index fell 0.13%.
The best performers of the session on the Nifty 50 were Bharti Infratel Ltd (NS:BHRI), which rose 3.40% or 7.30 points to trade at 222.15 at the close. Meanwhile, Yes Bank Ltd (NS:YESB) added 3.25% or 2.15 points to end at 68.30 and Bajaj Finance Ltd (NS:BJFN) was up 2.79% or 114.80 points to 4227.80 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd. (NS:ZEE), which fell 3.36% or 9.95 points to trade at 286.15 at the close. IndusInd Bank Ltd. (NS:INBK) declined 2.38% or 32.20 points to end at 1320.10 and UltraTech Cement Ltd (NS:ULTC) was down 2.15% or 91.30 points to 4147.40.
The top performers on the BSE Sensex 30 were Yes Bank Ltd (BO:YESB) which rose 3.40% to 68.35, Bajaj Finance Ltd (BO:BJFN) which was up 2.77% to settle at 4229.80 and Bharti Airtel Ltd (BO:BRTI) which gained 1.60% to close at 384.25.
The worst performers were IndusInd Bank Ltd. (BO:INBK) which was down 2.40% to 1319.30 in late trade, Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (BO:SUN) which lost 2.02% to settle at 429.05 and Infosys Ltd (BO:INFY) which was down 1.86% to 695.80 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the India National Stock Exchange by 957 to 597 and 74 ended unchanged; on the Bombay Stock Exchange, 1415 fell and 956 advanced, while 153 ended unchanged.
Shares in Bajaj Finance Ltd (NS:BJFN) rose to all time highs; rising 2.79% or 114.80 to 4227.80. Shares in Bajaj Finance Ltd (BO:BJFN) rose to all time highs; up 2.77% or 113.85 to 4229.80.
The India VIX, which measures the implied volatility of Nifty 50 options, was down 0.05% to 15.9175.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.30% or 4.50 to $1506.60 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 0.65% or 0.37 to hit $56.91 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 0.87% or 0.54 to trade at $62.67 a barrel.
USD/INR was down 0.09% to 70.720, while EUR/INR fell 0.06% to 78.7115.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.02% at 97.350.
