Investing.com – India stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Metals, Banking and Real Estate sectors led shares lower.
At the close in NSE, the Nifty 50 declined 0.19%, while the BSE Sensex 30 index lost 0.03%.
The best performers of the session on the Nifty 50 were HCL Technologies Ltd (NS:HCLT), which rose 4.69% or 30.65 points to trade at 683.50 at the close. Meanwhile, Reliance Industries Ltd (NS:RELI) added 4.40% or 90.60 points to end at 2148.40 and Tech Mahindra Ltd (NS:TEML) was up 3.55% or 22.45 points to 654.90 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd. (NS:ZEE), which fell 4.84% or 7.70 points to trade at 151.25 at the close. Hindalco Industries Ltd. (NS:HALC) declined 3.46% or 5.60 points to end at 156.40 and AXIS Bank Ltd (NS:AXBK) was down 3.23% or 14.90 points to 445.95.
The top performers on the BSE Sensex 30 were HCL Technologies Ltd (BO:HCLT) which rose 4.73% to 683.50, Reliance Industries Ltd (BO:RELI) which was up 4.15% to settle at 2146.20 and Tech Mahindra Ltd (BO:TEML) which gained 3.47% to close at 654.15.
The worst performers were AXIS Bank Ltd. (BO:AXBK) which was down 3.32% to 445.55 in late trade, State Bank Of India (BO:SBI) which lost 3.23% to settle at 191.90 and ICICI Bank Ltd (BO:ICBK) which was down 2.66% to 381.85 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the India National Stock Exchange by 1027 to 570 and 70 ended unchanged; on the Bombay Stock Exchange, 1504 fell and 997 advanced, while 127 ended unchanged.

The India VIX, which measures the implied volatility of Nifty 50 options, was down 0.43% to 24.5350.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.06% or 1.05 to $1888.95 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 0.73% or 0.30 to hit $41.37 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 0.65% or 0.28 to trade at $43.59 a barrel.
USD/INR was down 0.00% to 74.809, while EUR/INR fell 0.05% to 86.6945.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.08% at 94.722.
