Investing.com – India stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Technology, IT and Healthcare sectors led shares lower.
At the close in NSE, the Nifty 50 declined 0.11%, while the BSE Sensex 30 index declined 0.21%.
The best performers of the session on the Nifty 50 were JSW Steel Ltd (NS:JSTL), which rose 5.87% or 9.75 points to trade at 175.90 at the close. Meanwhile, Eicher Motors Ltd. (NS:EICH) added 5.74% or 799.50 points to end at 14721.90 and Titan Company Ltd (NS:TITN) was up 5.02% or 42.65 points to 892.30 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Bharti Airtel Ltd. (NS:BRTI), which fell 5.94% or 35.25 points to trade at 557.95 at the close. Bajaj Finserv Ltd (NS:BJFS) declined 5.11% or 220.35 points to end at 4095.20 and Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (NS:TCS) was down 3.53% or 71.40 points to 1948.95.
The top performers on the BSE Sensex 30 were Titan Company Ltd (BO:TITN) which rose 4.96% to 891.60, UltraTech Cement Ltd (BO:ULTC) which was up 3.64% to settle at 3771.00 and IndusInd Bank Ltd. (BO:INBK) which gained 2.96% to close at 348.20.
The worst performers were Bharti Airtel Ltd (BO:BRTI) which was down 5.71% to 559.15 in late trade, Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (BO:TCS) which lost 3.74% to settle at 1943.35 and Bajaj Finance Ltd (BO:BJFN) which was down 3.48% to 1829.90 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the India National Stock Exchange by 786 to 715 and 110 ended unchanged; on the Bombay Stock Exchange, 1164 rose and 1071 declined, while 170 ended unchanged.

The India VIX, which measures the implied volatility of Nifty 50 options, was down 2.80% to 31.4700 a new 1-month low.
Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.63% or 10.85 to $1724.65 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 2.41% or 0.80 to hit $34.05 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 1.38% or 0.49 to trade at $36.02 a barrel.
USD/INR was down 0.29% to 75.663, while EUR/INR rose 0.21% to 82.8775.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.62% at 99.265.
