Investing.com – India stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Real Estate, Technology and Healthcare sectors led shares higher.
At the close in NSE, the S&P CNX Nifty rose 0.45% to hit a new 1-month high, while the BSE Sensex 30 index climbed 0.55%.
The best performers of the session on the S&P CNX Nifty were Reliance Industries Ltd (NS:RELI), which rose 5.63% or 51.35 points to trade at 963.50 at the close. Meanwhile, Bharti Airtel Ltd. (NS:BRTI) added 4.02% or 14.05 points to end at 363.70 and HCL Technologies Ltd (NS:HCLT) was up 1.97% or 16.60 points to 857.75 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Oil And Natural Gas Corporation Ltd (NS:ONGC), which fell 2.37% or 6.25 points to trade at 257.85 at the close. Tata Motors Ltd . (NS:TAMO) declined 1.94% or 7.50 points to end at 378.70 and UltraTech Cement Ltd (NS:ULTC) was down 1.89% or 55.75 points to 2898.90.
The top performers on the BSE Sensex 30 were Reliance Industries Ltd (BO:RELI) which rose 5.61% to 963.40, Bharti Airtel Ltd (BO:BRTI) which was up 3.96% to settle at 363.70 and Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (BO:SUN) which gained 1.83% to close at 905.45.
The worst performers were Oil And Natural Gas Corporation Ltd (BO:ONGC) which was down 2.42% to 257.95 in late trade, Tata Motors Ltd. (BO:TAMO) which lost 1.99% to settle at 378.50 and TATA STEEL LIMITED (BO:TISC) which was down 1.78% to 248.15 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the India National Stock Exchange by 822 to 629 and 13 ended unchanged; on the Bombay Stock Exchange, 462 rose and 325 declined, while 5 ended unchanged.
The India Vix, which measures the implied volatility of S&P CNX Nifty options, was up 3.70% to 16.8775.
Gold for December delivery was down 0.91% or 10.80 to $1172.30 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 1.09% or 0.52 to hit $47.20 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 1.45% or 0.73 to trade at $49.73 a barrel.
USD/INR was up 0.11% to 64.775, while EUR/INR fell 0.18% to 73.3030.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.18% at 94.93.
