Investing.com – India stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Technology, IT and Auto sectors led shares higher.
At the close in NSE, the Nifty 50 added 2.26%, while the BSE Sensex 30 index climbed 2.28%.
The best performers of the session on the Nifty 50 were Bharti Infratel Ltd (NS:BHRI), which rose 7.69% or 13.00 points to trade at 182.10 at the close. Meanwhile, Bajaj Finserv Ltd (NS:BJFS) added 6.60% or 357.90 points to end at 5783.60 and HCL Technologies Ltd (NS:HCLT) was up 5.30% or 41.80 points to 830.10 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Bharat Petroleum Corp. Ltd. (NS:BPCL), which fell 0.86% or 3.25 points to trade at 374.00 at the close. UPL Ltd (NS:UPLL) declined 0.58% or 2.95 points to end at 502.20 and HDFC Life Insurance Company Ltd (NS:HDFL) was up 0.06% or 0.35 points to 578.00.
The top performers on the BSE Sensex 30 were Bajaj Finserv Ltd (BO:BJFS) which rose 6.64% to 5787.30, HCL Technologies Ltd (BO:HCLT) which was up 5.30% to settle at 829.80 and Bharti Airtel Ltd (BO:BRTI) which gained 4.98% to close at 439.70.
The worst performers were Asian Paints Ltd. (BO:ASPN) which was up 0.34% to 1925.70 in late trade, Hindustan Unilever Ltd. (BO:HLL) which gained 0.56% to settle at 2071.80 and Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd. (BO:KTKM) which was up 0.60% to 1253.35 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the India National Stock Exchange by 1347 to 254 and 81 ended unchanged; on the Bombay Stock Exchange, 1914 rose and 646 declined, while 164 ended unchanged.
Shares in HCL Technologies Ltd (NS:HCLT) rose to all time highs; gaining 5.30% or 41.80 to 830.10. Shares in HCL Technologies Ltd (BO:HCLT) rose to 52-week highs; up 5.30% or 41.75 to 829.80.
The India VIX, which measures the implied volatility of Nifty 50 options, was down 12.06% to 20.6750.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.81% or 15.25 to $1861.65 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 0.92% or 0.37 to hit $39.94 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 0.50% or 0.21 to trade at $41.73 a barrel.
USD/INR was down 0.26% to 73.710, while EUR/INR fell 0.62% to 85.7195.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.24% at 94.623.
