Investing.com – India stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Real Estate, Technology and Auto sectors led shares higher.
At the close in NSE, the Nifty 50 rose 1.64%, while the BSE Sensex 30 index climbed 1.68%.
The best performers of the session on the Nifty 50 were Wipro Ltd (NS:WIPR), which rose 4.23% or 20.95 points to trade at 516.10 at the close. Meanwhile, Tech Mahindra Ltd (NS:TEML) added 3.98% or 60.60 points to end at 1,585.00 and Grasim Industries Ltd (NS:GRAS) was up 3.65% or 91.60 points to 2,604.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Divi's Laboratories Ltd. (NS:DIVI), which fell 0.62% or 28.85 points to trade at 4,633.15 at the close. SBI Life Insurance Company Ltd (NS:SBIL) declined 0.08% or 1.35 points to end at 1,690.75 and Dr Reddy’s Laboratories Ltd (NS:REDY) was down 0.03% or 2.05 points to 6,799.00.
The top performers on the BSE Sensex 30 were Wipro Ltd (BO:WIPR) which rose 4.10% to 515.40, Tech Mahindra Ltd (BO:TEML) which was up 3.94% to settle at 1,584.00 and Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (BO:MAHM) which gained 3.43% to close at 2,840.00.
The worst performers were Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (BO:SUN) which was down 0.03% to 1,741.00 in late trade, Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. (BO:MRTI) which gained 0.20% to settle at 12,224.75 and Asian Paints Ltd. (BO:ASPN) which was up 0.40% to 3,035.05 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the India National Stock Exchange by 1721 to 726 and 26 ended unchanged; on the Bombay Stock Exchange, 2338 rose and 1426 declined, while 107 ended unchanged.

The India VIX, which measures the implied volatility of Nifty 50 options, was down 7.39% to 14.30.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.48% or 12.05 to $2,504.45 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 2.06% or 1.61 to hit $76.55 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 1.73% or 1.40 to trade at $79.64 a barrel.
USD/INR was unchanged 0.00% to 83.95, while EUR/INR rose 0.07% to 92.24.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.13% at 102.68.
