Investing.com – India stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Power, Capital Goods and Real Estate sectors led shares higher.
At the close in NSE, the Nifty 50 added 1.55% to hit a new 3-months high, while the BSE Sensex 30 index added 1.49%.
The best performers of the session on the Nifty 50 were Bajaj Finance Ltd (NS:BJFN), which rose 9.28% or 263.70 points to trade at 3104.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Larsen & Toubro Ltd (NS:LART) added 6.73% or 61.05 points to end at 968.50 and IndusInd Bank Ltd. (NS:INBK) was up 6.53% or 32.00 points to 521.90 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Reliance Industries Ltd (NS:RELI), which fell 1.40% or 24.45 points to trade at 1721.70 at the close. Bharti Airtel Ltd. (NS:BRTI) declined 0.63% or 3.65 points to end at 577.40 and Vedanta Ltd (NS:VDAN) was down 0.14% or 0.15 points to 109.90.
The top performers on the BSE Sensex 30 were Bajaj Finance Ltd (BO:BJFN) which rose 9.26% to 3105.00, Larsen & Toubro Ltd (BO:LART) which was up 6.68% to settle at 967.85 and IndusInd Bank Ltd. (BO:INBK) which gained 6.29% to close at 520.65.
The worst performers were Reliance Industries Ltd (BO:RELI) which was down 1.55% to 1720.05 in late trade, Bharti Airtel Ltd (BO:BRTI) which lost 0.36% to settle at 578.45 and Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. (BO:MRTI) which was down 0.23% to 5883.85 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the India National Stock Exchange by 1214 to 424 and 39 ended unchanged; on the Bombay Stock Exchange, 1863 rose and 713 declined, while 128 ended unchanged.
The India VIX, which measures the implied volatility of Nifty 50 options, was down 3.68% to 29.3400.
Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.12% or 2.05 to $1768.45 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 1.74% or 0.71 to hit $41.44 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 1.56% or 0.67 to trade at $43.75 a barrel.
USD/INR was down 0.22% to 75.613, while EUR/INR rose 0.06% to 85.3625.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.13% at 96.855.
