Investing.com – India stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Consumer Durables, Banking and Green Energy sectors led shares higher.
At the close in NSE, the Nifty 50 gained 1.38%, while the BSE Sensex 30 index gained 1.52%.
The best performers of the session on the Nifty 50 were Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Ltd (NS:APSE), which rose 7.87% or 36.40 points to trade at 498.85 at the close. Meanwhile, Titan Company Ltd (NS:TITN) added 6.72% or 155.00 points to end at 2,463.10 and Bajaj Finance Ltd (NS:BJFN) was up 5.19% or 296.60 points to 6,014.25 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Divi's Laboratories Ltd. (NS:DIVI), which fell 11.71% or 382.65 points to trade at 2,884.35 at the close. Bharat Petroleum Corp. Ltd. (NS:BPCL) declined 1.67% or 5.55 points to end at 326.65 and Tata Consumer Products Ltd (NS:TACN) was down 1.43% or 10.55 points to 726.60.
The top performers on the BSE Sensex 30 were Titan Company Ltd (BO:TITN) which rose 6.87% to 2,463.20, Bajaj Finserv Ltd (BO:BJFS) which was up 5.15% to settle at 1,337.50 and Bajaj Finance Ltd (BO:BJFN) which gained 5.13% to close at 6,010.75.
The worst performers were NTPC Ltd (BO:NTPC) which was down 0.69% to 165.50 in late trade, Wipro Ltd (BO:WIPR) which lost 0.32% to settle at 407.80 and Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories Ltd (BO:REDY) which was down 0.27% to 4,358.40 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the India National Stock Exchange by 1246 to 671 and 62 ended unchanged; on the Bombay Stock Exchange, 2146 fell and 1270 advanced, while 122 ended unchanged.
Shares in Divi's Laboratories Ltd. (NS:DIVI) fell to 52-week lows; falling 11.71% or 382.65 to 2,884.35.
The India VIX, which measures the implied volatility of Nifty 50 options, was down 8.49% to 14.40.
Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.32% or 6.15 to $1,924.65 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 0.13% or 0.10 to hit $75.78 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract fell 0.17% or 0.14 to trade at $82.03 a barrel.
USD/INR was down 0.17% to 81.90, while EUR/INR rose 0.04% to 89.54.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.15% at 101.42.
