Investing.com – India stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Real Estate, Power and Consumer Durables sectors led shares higher.
At the close in NSE, the Nifty 50 rose 1.28%, while the BSE Sensex 30 index added 0.99%.
The best performers of the session on the Nifty 50 were Indiabulls Housing Finance Ltd (NS:INBF), which rose 6.98% or 79.90 points to trade at 1227.10 at the close. Meanwhile, Bharat Petroleum Corp. Ltd. (NS:BPCL) added 6.31% or 21.10 points to end at 354.50 and Vedanta Ltd (NS:VDAN) was up 5.10% or 11.40 points to 235.60 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Coal India Ltd (NS:COAL), which fell 1.35% or 3.80 points to trade at 277.35 at the close. HCL Technologies Ltd (NS:HCLT) declined 1.52% or 16.50 points to end at 1070.70 and Infosys Ltd (NS:INFY) was down 1.06% or 7.90 points to 733.70.
The top performers on the BSE Sensex 30 were Vedanta Ltd (BO:VDAN) which rose 5.25% to 235.50, Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd (BO:PGRD) which was up 3.31% to settle at 199.60 and Asian Paints Ltd. (BO:ASPN) which gained 3.04% to close at 1331.00.
The worst performers were Coal India Ltd (BO:COAL) which was down 1.42% to 277.30 in late trade, Infosys Ltd (BO:INFY) which lost 1.01% to settle at 735.20 and Reliance Industries Ltd (BO:RELI) which was up 0.01% to 1252.80 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the India National Stock Exchange by 1165 to 450 and 47 ended unchanged; on the Bombay Stock Exchange, 1754 rose and 808 declined, while 169 ended unchanged.
The India VIX, which measures the implied volatility of Nifty 50 options, was down 2.86% to 13.8425.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.26% or 3.10 to $1211.30 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 0.42% or 0.29 to hit $68.88 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 0.23% or 0.18 to trade at $78.36 a barrel.
USD/INR was up 0.43% to 71.915, while EUR/INR fell 0.06% to 84.1620.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.05% at 94.48.
